Family Grants

Family Fundraising Grants (for families adopting children with HIV or other significant medical needs) provide an opportunity for adoptive families to open a “fund” with us and then raise funds (through tax-deductible donations) toward their adoption through their own fundraising efforts.

Who is eligible to open a fund?

Families who have been matched with a child who has HIV or with a child who has other diagnosed significant medical needs.

Families can also keep their grant funds open for approved post-adoption expenses related to their child’s medical care.

How does a Family Fundraising Grant work?

This program provides a great way for families to raise funds toward their adoption and provides their donors with the benefit of having their gift be a tax-deductible donation! Families have been able to raise thousands of dollars toward their adoptions through letters to family and friends as well as fun events like bike-a-thons, wine tastings, and pancake breakfasts! When a fund has received donations, approved adoption expenses can be paid directly from the fund or a reimbursement can be made.
